Recently I've been reading some articles by Norman Finkelstein.
Mr. Finkelstein is a Jew. His parents were holocaust survivors.
He received his doctorate in 1988 from the Department of Politics, Princeton University.
Currently he teaches at DePaul University.
This is his bit:
There is a "holocaust industry" that is exploiting Jewish suffering during WWII via things like the Swiss bank settlement , Jewish material claims against Germany , as well as through books like Jan T. Gross's "Neighbors" and Daniel Goldhagen "Hitler's Willing Executioners". The goals of these exploiters is to further Jewish and Israeli interests, and in doing so they have also currupted Jewish culture and heritage, as well as the history of the holocaust.

So to combat this insidious industry what does Mr. Finkelstein do? He writes a book about it. You can read for yourself what kind of bizarre claims he makes. Now lets put aside whether Mr. Finkelstein's arguements bear any merit and examine what the actual writing and selling of his book means. Isn't he doing exactly what he accuses others of doing? Isn't he writing a book about the holocaust and the "industry" that it has spawned for his own personal gain? Now if he gave the book away for free he might have some moral high ground from which to speak, but he doesn't. Infact he's in a no win situation. If he's right in what he says then he's just as guilty as those he accuses of wrong doing, and if he's wrong then he's just another jew hating asshole.
He singles out Elie Wiesel, (an actual holocaust survivor), as having exploited the holocaust for his own personal benefit. How exactly did Wiesel do this? By writing books about it? By speaking publicly about it? Well, here's the thing; Wiesel lived through it so why shouldn't he write and speak about it? If living though the holocaust doesn't give you the right to write and speak about it, then what does? Finkelstein is writing about the holocaust and making money off of it, but that's ok because his parents lived through it. What kind of a fucking nut is this guy anyways?

It appears that Finkelstein didn't do his homework very well. I really don't have all day to disprove every point this halfwit makes, so I'll just give one example here.He claims that "Nearly all the monies in the Swiss banks settlement will go not to Jewish survivors or heirs but into the coffers of Jewish organizations". I went to the web site for the Swiss bank settlement. So far they have distributed about $260 million of the $1.25 billion awarded. That's about 20%. Not bad so far. How easy do you think it is to distribute money to the over 33,000 claims filed so far? You can even go look up the names of everyone who has gotten money so far and how much they got, (http://www.crt-ii.org/_awards/index.phtm).
Ok, let's cut to the chase. The bottom line is that Finkelstein is every anti-Semite, every holocaust denier, every Israel hating Arab's wet dream.He's part of a leftist jew-hating jewish intellectual cabal who sell out their own people for the sake of a lousy buck. This guy has been discredited by many scholars, even some he relies on. Peter Novick for example, who Finkelstein praises in "The Holocaust Industry" has called Finkelstein's work a "hate campaign".

I think the most disgusting thing he does is exploit his holocaust surviving parents to further his half baked ideas about Jews and the holocaust. Truly sickening.

One more thing. Does it surprise you that he's best buddies with Noam Chomsky?

I must say that I agree with his assessment of the show, especially concerning how much Paul McCartney sucks. I never was much of a Beatles fan, but this guy is beyond pathetic.
Watching him is like seeing someone flip a penny at some cripple beggar, and the penny escapes the beggar's fingers as they try to catch it, and it falls into the gutter and the beggar reaches for it and falls out of their wheelchair and splashes around in the filth that's collected at a clogged sewer grate desperately trying to find the penny and they're getting filth and feces all over themselves, and it's in their hair and mouth, and they begin whimpering because they can't find the penny and the bandages have come off of the stumps that use to be their legs, and you can see dirt getting into the open sores covering them, and now the beggar is crying and little streams of tears are cutting through the sewage all over its face and everyone is just ignoring this poor fucker lying in the street, penniless and unable to get back in his wheelchair, and you'd like to go help but there's no place to put down the sandwich that you're eating so you just go on eating it and watching. That's exactly what it's like seeing Paul McCartney.

One thing that no one but me seems to be pointing out is that I don't really want some idiot like Bono managing the finances of my nation. What the fuck does he know about international economic systems and what makes him qualified to determine aspects of the Canadian federal budget? Who the fuck would want a rock star, or better yet a group of rock stars managing their money? Lets see, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Tom Waits, Billy Joel, David Bowie all got robbed blind. And trust me, this is just a small sampling of the big names. The list goes on and on and on. And these are the people that want to tell 8 of the largest most powerful economic powers in the world what they should do with their money? And what's most unbelievable is that people take this shit seriously. Is everyone really as stupid as they look?
