I just finished reading "The Best Money Democracy Can Buy" by Greg Palast.
It was pretty good, but not as well documented as I would have liked.

Now I'm on to "Globalization and its Discontents" by Stiglitz. It's much better.
He really illustrates the absurdities of IMF policy in a clear intelligent manner.

I have very little use of economic globalization as it is currently being persued by the IMF and WTO.
I'm no economics wiz, but what I do understand of their policies makes no sense whatsoever.
Keeping inflation low at all costs achieves what and for who?

One thing I am happy about is the monumental failure of deregulation and privatization of certain services here in Ontario.
The idiots who ran our province for 9 years fucked up the privatization of our drinking water monitoring system so bad that 16 people died
of ecoli poisoning.
They also screwed up the deregulation of our power system. But that's not really hard. Everyone else did the same.
Energy prices have risen everywhere in the world where the power system has been deregulated. This whole, "markets can manage themselves"
bullshit is just that; BULLSHIT. It assumes that markets work perfectly. Ask the folks in England, or California how perfect they work.

And behind the scenes there's the IMF championing less regulation of markets.
I wonder who they're working for?

When I proclaim my hatred from someone or something it is based on my own convictions, not the convictions of others. I hate the same way I play poker. If you bet on other people's cards you will lose. It's that simple. Now for you poker players out there, it's not an unbrakeable rule, but it's a damn good guide line to follow.

Now, Mr. Sandwich has provided us with his political predictions and analysis, concerning the upcoming American presidential election. There are so many things wrong with what he wrote on his blog, it's tough to know where to start.
Ok, let' start by answering some of the questions he posed.

C) No one will humiliate the USA more than Bush already has

I think what our friend has failed to realize is that there really is only one party in America these days. What exactly is the difference between the Democrats and the Republicans? The Democrat's program to assist in the Corporate dominance of American society is a little slower than the Republican's. That's about it.

As for Mr. Dean's comment about America being no safer as a result of the capture of Mr. Hussien. He's probably correct. Mr. Sandwich never really explained how exactly America has been made "safer" by the second Iraq war.
For that matter, it's painfully obivious that there are no WMD in Iraq and the only ones that were probably ever there were the ones that the Americans, (and British I believe), sold to Mr. Hussien. Infact, I think it can be argued that the American invasion of Iraq has made not only America, but the whole world less "safe". Do you really believe that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are more stable now than they were 2 years ago? If Pakistan was 5 minutes away from a fundamentalist takeover at any given time in 2001, they're 2 minutes away now. By invading Iraq Mr. Bush and his brain dead cronies have turned more than Iran against the West. How do you think the average Arab feels about the USA these days? Don't think that matters? Let me ask you one question; Who the fuck do you think is blowing people up at Israeli bus stops?

The war in Iraq is just a side-show in the international Corporate rape that has become the polices of the West. The same goes of the US Presidential election. Who gives a fuck who wins? The same idiotic economic and social policies will still be instituted. You see our friend Mr. Sandwich, does know quite a bit about American politics, (but seemingly less and less about Canadian), but not very much about economics. If he did, he'd know what a horrible job our friend Mr. Bush is doing. Even that capitalist rag The Economist proclaimed Mr. Bush's economic policies idiotic. I know when the economy is in recession, the first thing I'd do to fix it is eliminate the dividend tax. That's going to help everybody.
Well...everybody who matters to Mr. Bush.

So what if Mr. Bush wins this year? What difference is that going to make who wins? Exactly which policies are the Democrats going to institute that will change the rich getting richer, the poor getting poorer trend that has dominated the West over the last 15 years? Do you honestly think that corporations will have less say in policy if the Democrats are in the White House?

There has been a class war in the West over the last 14 years, and unfortunately the lower classes lost. Mostly because people lap up the shit they get served on CNN. People like Mr. Sandwich. Mr. Sandwich's politics make no sense whatsoever. He claims to be a libertarian, (or at least a boarder-line one), yet he supports the party that has passed the some of the most invasive laws in American history, (with regaurds to personal privacy). I've heard Mr. Sandwich go on and on about how much he admires the American system of government, and how their constitution is so much better than ours, yet he supports the party that shits all over the American constitution and calls themselves patriots. He thinks he's talking politics when all he's really doing is picking a side and shouting that he's right. He thinks that if he shouts loud enough, and for long enough, he somehow will be. But I'm afraid that your demented little republican world is really just a pile of crap.
